Eastman expands its Workflow range

Seeking to strengthen its offerings in the healthy process automation market, Eastman Software has made several additions to its Workflow range with Workflow Version 3.2 for Microsoft Windows NT, Workflow Connector for the World Wide Web and Workflow Connector for Exchange.

Workflow Version 3.2 for Windows NT has been upgraded with an enhanced API set and rapid application development (RAD) tools, in an attempt to make the NT platform capable of mission-critical, scalable workflow, the company said.

Web Connector aims to include customers, partners and other members across the enterprise in a workflow environment via a standard Web browser to meet these assertions. This allows remote access over the Internet and within the company intranet.

Exchange Connector seeks to complement the Web additions by extending participation in core workflow processes to Microsoft Outlook users.

The product provides a connection of work items between Exchange and Eastman's Workflow for Windows NT in a move to reduce the complexity of participating in the workflow process.

One of the major focal points of the new releases is integration and support for legacy systems. Vice president of worldwide marketing at Eastman Software, Michael Loria, said that the company looked to provide its customers with "the ability to integrate enterprise-wide workflow", and that providing "Web capabilities and Year 2000 compliance" were vital components of this campaign.

All products are available through Eastman Software's distributors.
