Quest Marks 2008 as the Year for Application Management

Month Date, 2007: Quest software has commissioned a report into the realm of application management, and whether the demand for it is out there, preliminary findings suggest that in 2008 it will be.

Having come off a string of successful global acquisitions, several of which have strong Australian presences, Quest software is looking at the rapidly developing marketplace of application management and has commissioned an investigation into the sector.

“Interestingly enough the preliminary findings from the research shows a strong emerging demand for application management, the final results aren’t due until mid-January, but it seems like things will take off in this space” said Laurence Cole, managing director at Quest.

Cole explains that Quest is pushing the idea of common sense computing, and has invested heavily into the local IT industry to setup Australian based research and development teams.

“We're probably one of the few software vendors that have local R&D in Australia. On the back of acquisitions that we've made, we have well over 100 staff across Australia employed in R&D and a range of intellectual property that has been developed here. It's a critical part of our whole global R&D footprint that exists down here.” said Cole.
