Doc access via mobiles

Xerox has unveiled MobileDoc, a software application that allows a user to fax and email documents from mobile phones, handheld computers and pagers.

MobileDoc allows the user to browse document libraries via a handheld device. The person selects a document and can send it to any fax number or email address. This allows users to share last minute proposals, time sheets and other corporate information remotely.

The application will initially support Motorola's PageWriter2000X two-way pager and its TimePort P930 customisable personal messaging device, as well as various current and future Nokia phone models.

MobileDoc is the first offering from iXerox, a division focused on delivering Internet-related technology.
