iStor Debuts Virtualisation Solution
iStor Debuts Virtualisation Solution
August 20, 2008: iStor Networks has introduced a new virtualisation solution that it says can simplify storage provisioning and allocation.
Dubbed integraSuite/MC Management Center, iStor says that the solution requires no storage expertise to set up or manage, freeing up time for network administrators.
It adds that the storage virtualisation technology also eliminates the requirement for managing individual RAID groups and their LUN configurations. Instead, integraSuite presents a pool of storage that is easily carved up into individual custom volumes, reducing administrative, support, and other operational costs.
“Many enterprise[s] grasp the benefits of server virtualisation, but they also need storage solutions that can support the dynamic, mixed workload environments enabled by server virtualisation,” said Brad Nisbet, Program Manager, Storage Systems, IDC.
“Virtualised storage solutions like iStor’s integraSuite that allow administrators to abstract logical storage from physical storage will make it possible for organisations to realise the full potential of a virtualised IT environment.”
