Objective steams into port

October 17, 2008: The Newcastle Port Corporation, responsible for one of the largest coal exporting ports in the world, is taking an Objective approach to Enterprise Content Management (ECM).

The Port of Newcastle is a key hub for the Hunter Region and the state of New South Wales.

“We selected Objective because it is a user-friendly single ECM solution with a track record in operating effectively in comparable environments,” said Shaun Kindleysides, Corporate Information Manager, Newcastle Port Corporation.

“We expect Objective to improve staff accessibility to corporate information and provide a more efficient and timely review and approval processes for documents,” he said.

The contract is the first for Objective since being selected under the NSW Government’s Government Selected Application (GSAS) contract for the supply of Information Asset Management Systems (IAMS).

Tony Walls, CEO, Objective Corporation said: “We are pleased to announce our first contract win under the new IAMS contract, with Newcastle Port Corporation.

“We have a long standing successful relationship with the NSW Government. This contract further strengthens this partnership and will allow us to continue our track record of successful ECM implementations for government.”
