PGP Intros SMB Encryption SaaS
PGP Intros SMB Encryption SaaS
October 22, 2008: With the popularity of encryption software on the rise, PGP Corporation has launched a new managed service provider network, expanding access for its encryption solutions to small to medium-sized businesses.
The PGP managed service provider network is a worldwide network of managed service providers and existing channel partners that will offer (initially) PGP’S Whole Disk Encryption as a Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription solution.
Encrypting data not only makes sense on a security level, but it is also increasingly becoming a compliance issue as new and more stringent regulatory compliance mandates are brought into place by governments.
PGP says that unlike large corporations, small and mid-market companies do not always have the budget, IT resources or infrastructure in place to support their data with enterprise-class security strategies and solutions, hence the need for an SMB-targeted SaaS encryption solution.
“Market data shows that customers, such as small businesses, branch offices and departmental groups, are becoming more comfortable consuming security technology as a service offering as it greatly simplifies set-up and ongoing infrastructure maintenance,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation.
“End-user customers and channel partners of the PGP Managed Service Provider Network can now more easily get started and quickly reduce IT expenditures by using PGP Whole Disk Encryption in a SaaS environment.”
