LuraTech introduces PDF Compressor 5.3

April 30, 2009:LuraTech has enhanced its document conversion solution with a number of new features, such as unstructured form recognition and the ability to convert born digital documents to PDF/A for long-term archival.

LuraDocument® PDF Compressor 5.3 now provides an improved Form Recognition Module that includes unstructured form – or free-form – recognition, which eliminates the need for manual processes, such as pre-sorting, and supports streamlined conversion of complex, multi-page scanned documents and forms.

With this module, users can sort a wide variety of documents; read and extract the appropriate information from the documents; and then prepare it for input into other applications, such as merchandise management or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

An optional Born Digital Module s designed to convert born digital documents – such as Microsoft Office, Outlook e-mail and PDFs – into PDF/A format for long-term archiving. With this module users can easily batch process digital files, in the same way that scanned paper documents can be processed with the PDF Compressor.

Both the Born Digital Module and Form Recognition Module are optional features to the PDF Compressor.
