July 2, 2009:A PDF "courier" service launched by Amyuni Technologies promises a secure an reliable alternative to email.
“With the huge increase in SPAM, many emails and documents never make it to their intended destinations, either because they were blocked or recipients deliberately overlooked them. In addition, many “read-receipt” functionalities included in email applications are simply ignored by recipients, leaving the sender guessing as to whether their important documents were ever read,” saidAmyuni President/CTO Dany Amiouny.
PDF Courier is available as an Outlook plug-in, online Web service, or standalone application that automatically converts document attachments into PDF format.
“The PDF Courier service is built on our flagship PDF conversion technology. It provides users with the means to send messages and documents in a secure PDF format via a guaranteed delivery system,” saidDany.
Recipients do need to install any software. They receive a link to PDF Courier which initiates the message download. The PDF Courier system detects and records this action and notifies the status of the message to the sender. Tracking the download status of multiple recipients is also possible.
“The benefits of sending a document in PDF format are clear: security, compressed file size, and presentation integrity. We’ve combined the convenience of automatic PDF conversion technologies with secure uploading and tracking capabilities,” said PDF Courier Product Manager JoannaKhoury.
