Nuance unveils PaperPort Professional 12

September 3, 2009:SharePoint integration is being highlighted by Nuance Communications for PaperPort Professional 12, the latest version of the scanning and document management application for Windows.

The new release also adds new features designed to scan, organize and eliminate piles of paper – including invoices, contracts, photographs, and forms – and convert them into searchable electronic files that can be easily accessed and shared.

A new user interface matches Microsoft Office and the upcoming Windows 7 "ribbon” approach. The redesign combines PaperPort’s visual document desktop with ribbon-based menus. A new "Scan Now” interface addition makes scanning one-click easy from any part of the application.

PaperPort 12 features also promises speed increases up to five times faster in viewing and navigating PDF files. In addition, PaperPort 12 adds new PDF features to make it possible to convert scanned paper forms into fillable PDF forms and create secure PDF documents.

PaperPort Professional 12 includes three levels of integration with Microsoft SharePoint for centralized content management, providing thumbnail views of SharePoint repositories in the PaperPort visual desktop, supporting drag & drop file transfer to and from SharePoint, and supporting accessing remote SharePoint repositories via VPN and network connections.

PaperPort Professional 12 is priced at $US199.99, with multi-seat and enterprise site license discounts available. PaperPort 12, for home and small office users, is $US99.99.
