IBM launches LotusLive iNotes webmail

LotusLive iNotes the latest entrant into the ongoing Webmail wars, with IBM now looking to provide a business-focussed alternative to Gmail and Windows LiveMail.


Pricing is being reported at US$3 per user per month, with calendaring and contact management features built in.


Technology bought from Hong Kong company Outblaze is at the core of the new offering, which will allow users to will host e-mail with their own domain name, without having to worry about supporting a mailserver.


Ramsey Pryor, IBM global offerings manager for the new product, told the Washington Post that the idea is to give companies an easy way to handle e-mail and calendaring on an organisation-wide basis.
