Regent Takes Document Imaging Back to School

July 6, 2007: Financial aid management software developer Regent Education has announced a new web-based integrated document imaging solution that it claims provides electronic document management, single process workflow automation, and indexing for the education sector.

Called Regent Imaging, the software is aimed specifically at educational institutions processing large volumes of student documentation. The company says it enables rapid scanning and indexing of documents in a single step, processing batches of information on separate computers as if they were part of an assembly line.

The company says key features include the ability to view documents directly from FAM, a robust OCR, OMR and barcode recognition system and the ability to use any TWAIN or ISIS scanner to capture documentation.

Regent also claims that no integration or separate database is needed as imaged documents are stored directly in Regent Enterprise.

“[Regent Imaging] will eliminate headaches caused by the purchasing, integration and maintenance of a separate, cost-prohibitive imaging system,” said Leonard Gude, Regent’s Vice President of Financial Aid Solutions.

The new imaging solution set will be offered as a fully integrated part of the Regent Enterprise financial aid management solution at no additional cost.
