Videoconferencing hits the Masses

May 16, 2007: TANDBERG have announced a PC videoconferencing product enabling organisations to communicate visually from anywhere employees can taken their laptops.

The ‘Movi’ product from TANDBERG offers a server-based video application for the enterprise market. It’s a centralised network device which TANBERG says, offers one-tough installation and management through the web. Deployment involves no installed software, no updates and can be accessed by the workforce anywhere with a Web connection.

TANDBERG have called the launch a major ‘cultural shift’ that’s set to benefit the global workforce. They’ve even gone one step further to suggest what we know of the ‘workplace’ will evolve as PC based visual communications become more commonplace.

The Movi product will enable entire organisations to become interconnected,” says Phil Siefert, country manager for TANDBERG Australia and New Zealand. “A key component of all TANDBERG technology is its interoperability with new and existing video conferencing platforms from the PC to telpresence.”

Siefert also suggests that with no locally installed software updates, diagnostics and measurement is simple. “Essentially, Movi enables busy professionals to enjoy PC-based visual communication from anywhere at anytime.

TANDBERG Movi is available today.
