Tower’s TRIM Does It Again

July 21st, 2006: Canberra’s Tower Software has won a US Department of Defence (DOD) contract for their TRIM Context 6 software.

The DOD European Command will deploy Tower’s TRIM Context 6 to manage its TASKER processes and records. According to Tower, TRIM incorporates: document management, email management, web content management, collaboration, process management and records management. The company says TRIM is perfectly suited for the routing, tracking and development of official responses involved in the TASKER application.

The TASKER application was developed using the TRIM Context Software Development Kit (SDK). Tower Software partner Booz Allen Hamilton successfully leveraged TRIM Context Software/APIs to design a customised Microsoft.Net application that allows staff to provide accurate and timely responses to incoming inquiries sent to their office.

The application extends TRIM functionality to enable document scanning, inquiry analysis, route documents and coordinate a response between multiple offices. TRIM integrates with Microsoft Outlook to allow automatic integration of e-mails into the record and document management system. Designed with a component-based architecture, future releases of the TASKER solution will witness easy portability from a desktop solution to a web solution environment that integrates with Microsoft Sharepoint.

“European Command is the next step in our push into the defence market globally”, says Michael Cliff, general manager of corporate marketing, Tower Software. “Our Enterprise Services agreement with the DOD is now worth $34.5 million over the next five years”. Tower has already rolled out TRIM Enterprise Content Management products for the US military services, Defence Department, intelligence agencies and the Coast Guard.
