A decade in the Vault

January 20, 2009: Symantec is highlighting the 10 year heritage of its email and content archiving platform with the launch of Enterprise Vault 8.0.

The latest version offers optimised single instance storage and accelerated Accelerated e-Discovery.

A Guided Review feature allows users to analyse and filter search results to quickly drill down to the most relevant content with a few simple clicks of the mouse, to reduce the costs and risks of e-discovery.

Installation has been simplified with a Getting Started Wizard and a new Common Tasks Dashboard.

“Input from our 10,000 strong customer base helped us see that they were facing more than just email management challenges, they were facing challenges to storing, managing and discovering information from many sources including file systems, instant messaging and SharePoint,” said Simon Jelley, senior director of Symantec Enterprise Vault product management. “With the availability of Enterprise Vault 8.0, customers can achieve complete single instance storage across all of their unstructured information and significantly reduce their storage and discovery costs."
