Document Scanning Helps Firms Go Green
Document Scanning Helps Firms Go Green
November 23, 2007: According to Hybrid Document Systems, document scanning is often being overlooked as a way for firms to achieving sustainability goals.
Hybrid says that not only does paper scanning and electronic document management help reduce costs, improve efficiency and a competitive advantage, it can also go a long way to decreasing ecological footprints due to reduced reliance on paper.
While some firms have traditionally shied away from imaging and electronic document management due to the costs involved, Hybrid says the days of multi-million dollar document management solutions are a thing of the past, enabling improved response times and solutions for organisations of all sizes.
Hybrid recognises that no office is likely to be entirely paper free in the foreseeable future, so it is promoting both electronic document management and corporate social responsibility as the way forward, and is kicking off the effort by implementing a voluntary environmental policy as well as participating in forest restoration projects around the world.
“Will the paperless office we were promised back in 1975 happen in our life-time? Probably not," says Kevin D'Arcy, VP of Sales & Marketing for Hybrid Document Systems Inc. “However, the efficiency and environmental benefits of such a concept can be obtained today.”
“By managing our records electronically we can drastically reduce our paper consumption and office supplies which will have a beneficial impact on our consumption of natural resources.”
