Kofax unveils VirtualReScan Elite

Kofax has launched a new version of the company’s image enhancement and perfection software VirtualReScan (VRS) Elite.

It pronises enhanced scanning functionality, improved device health monitoring capabilities and the ability to support enterprise capture deployments. Kofax VRS has more than 2 million licenses actively in use today.

"High quality images are critical as they significantly impact the success of downstream classification, page segmentation, data extraction and retrieval needs," said Jim Nicol, Kofax Executive Vice President of Products at Kofax.

"By leveraging Kofax VRS Elite to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of business processes, customers can maximise their document capture platforms to increase performance, reduce costs and generate a fast, measurable ROI."

The new features of Kofax VRS Elite include:
Centralised Licensing: Provides centralised administrative control over the distribution, installation and activation of Kofax VRS Elite licenses, making it easier and less costly to support enterprise capture deployments involving larger numbers of digital scanners;
Device Health Monitoring: Allows for the monitoring of the operating condition of local or remote digital scanners, and proactively alerts users to the existence of potential issues that can affect image quality or scanner performance, helping to avert service problems before they generate delays or additional costs;
Automatic Profile Management: Reduces scanning problems by automatically creating a profile for a document's specific characteristics and applying it to the image enhancement process. This accelerates scanning operations and provides more consistent image quality, offering optimal straight through processing for maximised system performance;
New and Updated Algorithms: Improves image perfection with the addition of new and updated algorithms.
