Aussie vendor Redmap-ping out Stateside success

Mar 22, 2005: Shortly after establishing a US office, electronic document management vendor Redmap has further expanded its operations across the pond with the joint-venture opening of a scanning bureau to help corporations comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) issues.

Redmap's software captures, manages and protects email and other electronic documents, which is crucial for corporate compliance, governance and risk management. The company also helps organisations meet new international legislative reporting standards.

The stringent SOX legislative requirements control fiscal accountability for all public companies in the wake of spectacular corporate collapses in the US, such as Enron and WorldCom. From vital records to critical business information, the bureau captures and indexes paper and electronic documents to strict archival standards.

Currently employing 85 people, Redmap plans to expand the operation to 300. 

“The US SOX legislation demonstrates a worldwide trend for governments to demand better corporate compliance, governance and risk management,” said Redmap's president, Earl Woolley.

“Corporations are demanding sophisticated document and data management to meet privacy, accounting and global reporting requirements," added Woolley.

Redmap’s international success has been acknowledged in awards including Australia’s 2004 ICT Exporter of the Year.
