IBM has acquired Daeja Image Systems, a provider of software that makes it easier for business and IT professionals to view large documents and images. Daeja is a privately held software company with headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Litera, a developer of content and risk management software for law firms and corporations worldwide,has announced a new relationship with Ethan Group, an Australian technology service provider with 10 offices throughout the Asia Pacific region. Ethan Group is known for its technology consulting and systems integration services for medium-sized business, large multinationals and government organisations.

Melbourne-based software developer Nintex Group has sold its information technology consulting services business, OBS, to Empired Limited for $A15 million.

 

A prototype autonomous vehicle, or rover, developed by CSIRO is helping scientists improve the accuracy of Earth observation satellites that provide valuable data to Australia's mining and agricultural industries. 

Worldwide shipments of production printers grew 15% year over year to 13,000 units (printers and MFPs) in the second quarter of 2013, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC)Worldwide Quarterly Production Printer Tracker. Despite the increase in shipment volume, shipment value declined -4% year over year to more than $500 million for the same time period.
