EDS and Fuji Xerox in Australia alliance

Outsourcing giant EDS has teamed up with Fuji Xerox as the companies look to increase their presence in the office IT infrastructure market in Australia.

The multi-faceted partnership will target the growing market for desktop and document management services and the convergence of IT services for the digital office.

Phil Pryke, EDS vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific, said the Australian agreement mirrored the global partnership between the two companies.

"By exploiting the natural synergies between EDS and Xerox we are creating a dynamic market force in the high-end and networked office environment."

Under the agreement, EDS and Fuji Xerox will offer a complete range of office services and products including printing, imaging, business process outsourcing, document management and consulting. The agreement includes both Fuji Xerox Australia and Fuji Xerox Printers.

Phil Chambers, managing director of Fuji Xerox Australia, said the agreement would ensure their customers were at the forefront of document technologies, products and services.

"We can help them better manage their office environment, control costs, reduce complexity, boost productivity and be positioned for the next era of digital business.

"Businesses are looking for efficiency and simplicity in the delivery of systems and processes, and this alliance will achieve that at a lower cost and with a single point of accountability."
